“We are also morally obligated to review all Bolshevik borders by the introduction of the apartheid system in relation to Russians in Latvia: out of 2.4 million inhabitants, 700,000 Russians were declared “non-citizens” and “occupiers” (despite the fact that some of them live on historical Russian lands ), they do not have political and social rights; many professions are closed to them, the use of the Russian language in local government bodies is prohibited; School education in Russian is prohibited. The whole history is distorted (Peter I, who liberated them from the true occupation, is included among the “occupiers”).

In Estonia, 220 thousand Russians are in the same situation. In addition, the authorities took away almost all churches from the Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (this is 90% of all Orthodox Christians in Estonia) and transferred them to the newly formed Estonian Church under the jurisdiction of the Patriarch of Constantinople. This is justified by the fact that during the pre-war period of Estonia’s self-proclaimed independence, only Constantinople jurisdiction was legalized in it, although all the taken away churches were built before the revolution and were the property of the Russian Church.

The economy of the Baltic states depends on trade with Russia, on Russian energy resources, export transit, etc. Taking advantage of this, as well as financially helping the self-organization of the Russian-speaking population, the Russian Federation could improve its situation, strengthen its influence on the formation of elected authorities and, through them, raise the issue of the current illegitimate borders.

At the same time, Russia should take advantage of the fact that Latvia and Estonia themselves are putting forward territorial claims to the Russian Federation for parts of the Pskov and St. Petersburg regions. This gives us a reason to draw the attention of Europe to the fact that the admission of the Baltic republics to NATO violates the condition that those admitted should not have territorial disputes with their neighbors.”

If there was proper Russian power, all controversial issues with the Baltic states could be resolved peacefully in a Christian manner in mutual interests based on the indisputable principles of legitimacy and historical justice. Unfortunately, all these are just good wishes under the current government of the Russian Federation, which firmly cultivates its continuity from the criminal communist government, celebrates its “victories” and thereby in every possible way fuels the hatred of its neighbors towards Russia and the Russian people.

2. Estonia received “independence” without any elections, referendums, without any legal basis, without any “great struggle”, about which there are so many pseudo-historical myths now. (After the 1st World War, when small newly formed states did not even think of asking permission from the treacherously blown up Empire). The chaos was unimaginable. The entire map of Europe was redrawn in one moment.

3. However, the Russian population of the Republic of Estonia on their historical Russian lands considers the theft of political and, in many respects, economic rights by the Estonian authorities illegal, demanding the immediate elimination of the institution of statelessness and the immediate resolution of everyday tensions between ordinary people and the elimination of their basis in the person of the Yaizeliit , which is a mirror of the criminal Omakaitse banned by the International Nuremberg Tribunal. But this real struggle for our most vital human rights does not find any response anywhere. And above all in Russia itself. Because, apparently (following the example of Wagner PMC) “there are no Russians in Estonia.”

4. The country is rapidly militarizing and being flooded with all sorts of military rubbish, from Swedish infantry fighting vehicles “Combat Vehicle 90” (Swedish markings – “Stridsfordon 90”) to bomber planes, the flight time of which to St. Petersburg is 3 minutes.

It is sad that post-Bolshevik Russia suffers from the remnants of Bolshevism and therefore does not pay attention to the Russians in the Baltics. Will Russia get rid of these relics and will it be soon?

Estonia's Independence Day is celebrated on February 24th. The roots of the holiday go back to the beginning of the twentieth century, when the Declaration of Independence was proclaimed in Tallinn in 1918. It was in 1918 that the free and independent Republic of Estonia began its history.

After the First World War

Estonians associate the acquisition of independence with the First World War, when Estonia was also drawn into the war and defended its territory. The battles lasted for two years until, finally, in 1920, the country regained freedom. Estonia's Independence Day was celebrated for the next twenty years, until the country again fell under the influence of its larger neighbor. In 1940, after the signing of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, little Estonia became part of one big country. This did not follow from the general points of the Soviet-German agreement, but from a small secret protocol where the two European superpowers divided Eastern Europe.

Before World War II

Isn't it true that the events before the start of the Second World War remind us very much of the current situation in the world. Just as then, major European powers such as France and England, who had secured overseas support, recognized the transfer of Estonia to the control of the USSR as illegal. None of the countries supported the formation of the new Soviet republic of the Estonian SSR. Moreover, none of the major Western powers accepted Estonia's annexation into the Soviet Union. Residents had to forget about such a holiday as Independence Day of Estonia for forty long years.

On the ruins of an empire

Talk about freedom began to be heard more and more often in Estonia only in the 80s of the twentieth century, with the advent of glasnost, perestroika and the beginnings of democracy in the USSR. People were not afraid to openly express their position and took to the streets of Estonian cities and celebrated, albeit unofficially, but no less passionately, Estonian Independence Day. Already by 1988, a new declaration of independence of the country was ready, according to which priority was given not to the laws of the USSR, but to the new Estonian order.

Estonia's new Independence Day came on August 20, 1991, when the country regained its pre-war status, lost in 1940. Soviet domination was seriously represented in small Estonia, so troops were withdrawn from the territory of the country over the next three years. Despite the fact that independence from the USSR came on August 20, as before, Estonia’s Independence Day is usually celebrated on February 24, in the old way.
