Step by step knitted parsley toy. Knitted dragon-parsley

The heroes of the Russian puppet theater are known to children from a very early age. One of these is Petrushka - a peculiar and characteristic jester with a cheerful character and good disposition. Initially, he was created in the form of a glove-type doll, which could be given an active character by movements of his own hand.

Later, the doll was turned into a hero of the puppet theater. However, the glove version is still popular.

Mandatory features of the parsley image are:

  • a red shirt decorated with patterns with folk ornaments;
  • wide canvas trousers, rakishly tucked into boots;
  • a long cap, at the end of which there is always a brush.

Sometimes there are no pants, a long shirt seems to cover the legs.

The cap can be bifurcated, and then there is a tassel at each end.

How to sew?

The soft toy Parsley is welcome in almost all homes where there are children. By putting it on your hand, you can easily cheer up a child, lift his spirits, and distract him from unnecessary problems. And if you prepare several similar folk characters, you can get a full-fledged troupe of puppet performers.

How to make Parsley with your own hands? We will make the head from papier-mâché, the elements of the body will help us make special patterns. You can sew them by hand; if you have a machine, use it. If neither one nor the other is acceptable, using special fabric glue you can carefully glue all the parts around the perimeter.

To work you will need the set shown in the photo.

We make a papier-mâché head with our own hands as follows:

  1. Chop the egg trays and pour boiling water over them.
  2. After complete soaking, squeeze out excess water and add PVA glue in a ratio of 3: 1.
  3. A cylinder must be inserted into the head in advance for subsequent attachment of the body.
  4. Taking a round base, we apply the finished mixture to it and additionally sculpt relief details: nose, forehead, ears, chin.

Further actions are carried out after the base has completely dried. Hand painted colors used:

  • cover the head with water-based paint, after drying it paint the entire surface with a flesh-colored shade;
  • we shape facial features, make them as kind and smiling as possible;
  • Next comes the hair. We wind the selected threads onto the frame. We cut them along the edges;
  • we glue the base with hair around the circumference of the head - it looks like curls escaping from under the cap.

A costume says a lot about your character.

How to sew it to make it beautiful? Parsley is a doll that “constantly visits guests.” Therefore, we use only bright, variegated colors of fabrics, the scraps of which are sewn in order:

  • attach the pattern, trace it with a pencil and cut it out, taking into account the seam allowances;
  • we sew the parts together and get a shirt;
  • a head cap is made in the same way;
  • the hand in a mitten is also performed;
  • its attachment to the shirt occurs due to the inserted cylinder.

We combine the manufactured parts and get the most expressive of folk dolls - Parsley.

How else can you do it?

If the papier-mâché head can remain the same in other versions of the doll, then the clothes can be knitted. On doll models such things look especially touching and original. You can also tie your head. This hero is made by crocheting in the round using single crochets.

The people's favorite doll can be sewn entirely from fabric using special patterns. Having cut out each part, we sew at the places where they are connected. Then we fill the inner cavity of the head with something soft, for example, foam rubber, cotton wool, holofiber. There is no need to fill your shirt.

This is a convenient place for the hand that controls the doll's movements. Legs made in a similar way can be sewn to the bottom of the shirt. Then, when you revive the toy with hand movements, they will swing funny, giving the image special expressiveness.

Don't be afraid that it won't work out! Sew and see how exciting and tempting this business is. And the hero that results from such interesting work will not only be cute and cute, but also warmed by the warmth of your soul, which he will generously share with children.

Many of you have little mischievous children who are difficult to keep in place! And this Parsley rattle toy is primarily for them! And also for parents!

This story began at an exhibition in Moscow five years ago. Mom bought a similar toy for my sister. Since then, Masha grew up, and Petrushka lay in the attic, along with many unnecessary things. And it’s so interesting in the attic! So I found this toy. I looked at it and decided to sew such a toy for my neighbor Anyuta and her sister Mashenka, who turns two years old in August!

So, let's begin!

Necessary materials:

1. a piece of white fabric (for the head), and bright colors (for the shirt, cone and cap).

2. cardboard

3. a stick for attaching the structure (I used a plastic one from a flowerpot, but you can also use a twig)

4. Titan glue or other strong glue, as well as PVA

5. a piece of felt for hands, beads for eyes, nose and mouth

6. braid, lace for decoration

Time spent on making a toy max. 3 hours.

We cut out a semicircle with a radius of 14 cm from strong cardboard and form a cone with a diameter of 7-8 cm.

We cover the cone with fabric, wrapping it inside the cone.

Making a shirt pattern. (All my sizes are approximate). Important: the size of the bottom of the shirt (+ 2 cm for allowance) is equal to the diameter of the cone!

We sew the head of the future Parsley: square 6 * 6. We sew a shirt, leaving holes for the neck, palms and for attaching to the cone. We assemble Parsley by first inserting a stick into the head, fixing it with padding polyester, and tightening it with threads at the base. Then we put the shirt on the stick and sew the shirt to the neck. Poor Petrushka!

We make hair for Parsley (I used yarn), sew a cap from a triangle, glue beads, sew on gloves and decorate.

Apply strong glue to the inside of the edges of the cone, approximately 2 cm in height. And glue Parsley’s shirt to the cone. Important: the size of the bottom of the shirt matches the radius of the cone. I ended up with a very short shirt because I made the diameter of the cone incorrectly when gluing. And I had to lower Parsley lower into the cone! Please don't repeat my mistake!!!

How to knit a toy with knitting needles.

Even novice needlewomen can knit a funny toy with knitting needles, although at first glance this task seems impossible. The main thing in this matter is to master the skills of knitting with knit and purl loops, as well as understand the patterns.

From the article you will learn how to knit toys with knitting needles. Here are patterns for knitting a dog, cat, bear, mouse, panda and others. Using the presented diagrams, you can knit another animal. You just need to design the face, ears, and paws differently.

Knitting a soft bear toy with knitting patterns and descriptions: master class

Those who have mastered the “loop” stitch and can cross yarn of different colors will make a wonderful teddy bear.

Some tips for needlewomen:

  • It is better to choose knitting needles of a smaller diameter than yarn, then the toy will be dense, and the stuffing will not be visible through the slits.
  • Do not use scraps of yarn or fabric as stuffing. Sintepon and holofiber are suitable for this purpose.
  • If you decide to knit clothes for your bear, then take yarn that is thinner than the one from which the toy is knitted.

Pattern for knitting a teddy bear:

This bear is knitted in one piece. And here is a detailed description of knitting a blue bear.

Knitted toy – Teddy bear

Teddy bears are loved by both adults and children. A knitted teddy bear, given for a holiday or just because, will bring the warmth of your heart and comfort to your home. We invite you to knit a gorgeous bear from “grass” yarn. The principle of operation is not complicated, but you need to grasp it, then the toy will knit quickly.

Teddy bear made from grass yarn

To work you will need:

  • 1 skein of yarn “grass” 150m/100g
  • knitting needles No. 4
  • regular blue yarn or leftovers
  • small hook No. 1.5 (if you knit with a large hook, the feet and muzzle will not turn out as tight as needed and will not hold their shape)
  • regular nose threads
  • beads for eyes
  • stuffing

Torso and head:

  • We start knitting in garter stitch from the lower part of the body, gradually moving to the head.
  • We put 11 loops on the knitting needles and add 10 loops for each 2nd row up to 51 loops (on the knitting needles).

  • We knit 3 rows in garter stitch without any additions.
  • We knit the next row with decreases of 5 loops: we do them on every 4th row, up to 21 loops on the knitting needles.
  • We form the neck from 3 rows, and then proceed to the head: In each 2nd row we add 10 loops twice. We knit 6 rows without increments, and then knit with increments (after every 10 loops we add 5 loops.

  • We knit this way until the fabric is more than 4 cm in length. Having closed 5 loops evenly, we knit the row to the end, and then close 10 loops in every 2nd row three times. We pull the thread through the loops that remain on the knitting needle and tighten. We stuff the toy and sew the edges.

Muzzle:

  • We use a hook. We start by casting on 3 loops. In the 3rd loop we add 6 single crochets and close the circle.
  • in the 2nd row we should have 12 loops: 1 single crochet, 2 single crochets in the next stitch
  • in the 3rd row you should get 18 loops: knit similarly to the second row, repeating 6 times
  • in the 4th row you should get 24 loops, just knit 6 times like this: 2 single crochets, and in the next column - 2 single crochets
  • in the 5th row there should be 30 loops, knit 6 times like this: 3 single crochets, 2 single crochets in the next stitch
  • We knit rows 6-9 with regular knitting

Now the muzzle can be stuffed with padding polyester and connected to the head.

  • We knit the front legs with regular knitting, casting on 10 loops. Add 1 loop in every 6th row along the edges. Thus, we should have 14 loops. We knit 6 rows, and then begin to close 7 loops in the 1st row, distributing the decreases evenly. We insert the cut thread into the loops that remain on the knitting needle and tighten the thread.
  • The second paw is knitted similarly. We sew the legs stuffed with padding polyester to the body.
    We begin to knit the lower paws from the bottom up, casting on 30 loops.
  • After 4 rows of regular knitting, we begin to make decreases:
    we knit 13 loops, then 2 loops at the same time, knit one knit stitch, again 2 loops at the same time, and 13 loops in regular knitting.
  • In the 7th row we knit all the loops in the same way, only instead of 13 loops there will be 12.
    Next we knit even rows in stockinette stitch.
  • We knit the 9th row similarly to the 7th, but instead of 12 loops there will now be 11 and so we make decreases in each odd row: in the 11th row - through 10 loops, in the 13th - through 9 loops.
  • We knit rows 14-18 straight.

We proceed to adding loops according to the following scheme:

  • In the 19th row we knit 10 loops, make 1 increase, knit 1 loop in knit stitch, again add one loop and again knit 10 loops.
  • In the 21st row we increase not after the 10th, but after the 11th loop, in the 23rd row we increase after 12 loops.
  • In the 25th row we knit 2 loops together 7 times, then we knit 14 loops in knit stitch (when we knit the second paw, we will start with 14 knit stitches, then we will knit 2 loops 7 times).
  • On the 27th row we will close the loops.
  • When the second paw is ready, tie the feet with single crochets. The diagram is presented below:

  • Let's assemble the paws and sew on the feet. We fill it with padding polyester and attach it to the body.
  • We knit the ears by casting on 7 loops and decreasing by 1 loop along the edges of the next row. We knit another row and close the loops. We crochet the edges of the ears to give them the desired shape.

  • We crochet the nose by casting 5 chain stitches. We make decreases in each row (one loop on both sides). Once we have a small triangle, let's start tying the edges. Let's sew the nose to the muzzle.

  • All that remains is to knit the patches for the head and the body. After this, we will sew on the eyes and make decorative stitches on the legs and body.

One-color balls of leftover yarn can be put to excellent use: knitting funny kittens. Knitting a kitten is not difficult if you know how to knit socks or mittens on five knitting needles. You can also use regular circular knitting needles for knitting. We will knit from the lower part of the body, gradually moving upward.

  • We cast on 12 loops, and in the 2nd row we double the number of loops. From the third row we should have 30 stitches added. Then we simply knit without increasing or decreasing until we reach the 32nd row.
  • Sew a circle cut out of felt to the kitten's butt. Now you can put the weighting material in the bag and the filling inside.
  • The crown is folded in half and stitched. To highlight the ears, we sew the corners of the head diagonally.
  • In the place where the kitten will have a neck, we also sew with thread, tightening it a little.
  • We knit the tail and limbs by casting 6 loops. For the paws we knit 12 rows, we select the length of the tail at our discretion. We will sew the connected tube parts to the body. We decorate the face, don’t forget to embroider the navel.

Knitted toy - sheep

Knitted sheep

50 g boucle threads
20 g of smooth threads (for the face and paws of the sheep)
black and brown threads for decoration
knitting needles, needle, padding polyester or other filler, bell

We knit the head in stockinette stitch. You need to cast on 6 loops with a regular beige thread and double the loops in the first row. We knit the second row according to the pattern.
Row 3: double the first stitch, knit the second stitch, repeat until the end of the row.
Row 4: knit according to pattern
5th row: the first loop is doubled, the second and third are knitted.
7th row: the first loop is doubled, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th are knitted.
We add so many loops so that there are 6 loops between the doubled loops.
After the additions we knit 12 rows.
Now we need boucle thread. For this we take 2.5 mm knitting needles.
The front side is knitted with purl stitches, the back side with knit stitches. We knit 5 rows.
We decrease the loops in the reverse order: knit 2 loops together:
beginning of the row - knit 2 loops, and then repeat after 6 loops
beginning of the row - knit 2 loops, and then repeat after 5 loops
We should have 6 loops left on the knitting needle. We cut the thread, pull it through these 6 loops and tighten.

We begin to knit the body with regular threads from 6 loops. In the second row we add loops in the same way as we used when knitting the head. When we knit three rows, we switch to boucle yarn. We knit again with additions until 10 loops are reached between the added loops. After the knitted fabric reaches 7-9 cm, we begin to decrease in the reverse order.
We knit 2 loops at the same time at the beginning of the row, repeat the decrease after 10 loops.
In the next row we decrease at the beginning of the row and after 9 stitches. There should be 6 loops left on the knitting needle. Pull the cut thread through them and tighten.

For the tail we also use boucle yarn. Cast on 8 loops. We knit in garter stitch, decreasing in every 2 rows by 1 loop at the beginning of the row and at the end. When there is only one loop left on the knitting needle, cast it off.
For the ears we cast on 8 loops. We knit 8 rows. We make decreases in 2 rows: we knit all the loops by 2. After that we make decreases until there is 1 loop left on the knitting needle. Close it and cut the thread.
For the legs we use black yarn. We start knitting with 8 loops. When 3 rows are knitted, change the thread to a light one and knit 10 rows. We fill the finished parts with padding polyester.

Sew the muzzle to the head, not forgetting to leave a hole on the top of the head. Fill it with padding polyester and sew it on.
We do the same with the body. We connect the head and torso. We sew in the tail and ears. We sew the legs, pulling them together. To do this, the thread is passed through the tummy. We decorate the muzzle and hang the bell around the neck.

Oksana Telikova

I warmly welcome you, girlfriends, friends and those who just stopped by to see me! I hasten to show off my new doll resident!

He is with a bell in his hand,

In a bright red cap.

Like a fun toy

What's it called?

Parsley

- This is not only a well-known seasoning for various dishes, it is also one of the most popular Russian dolls. Parsley, like a toy, is part of the national color.

Today, on the holidays of Maslenitsa, I think it would not be amiss to remember this perky and mischievous doll!

I found it useful:

* bright fabric for shirt and cap;

* long thin stick;

* white knitted fabric for face and hands;

* a small piece of pink fleece for the nose;

* jute or yarn for hair;

* filler;

* decorative eyes;

* cosmetic blush;

* braid, buttons, bell for the cap;

* scissors;

* glue "Moment"

* felt-tip pen for textiles

How I made it:

I cut out a cone (d=13 cm) from cardboard.

I covered it with fabric and shaped it.

I did the head and nose in the usual way.

I glued the eyes.

I applied blush. I made bangs and hair from jute.

Fluffed it up.

I drew freckles and eyebrows with a brown felt-tip pen.

And then the “troubles” began!

The head turned out to be disproportionately large!

I had to “increase” the cone by 10 cm and replace the sushi stick with a support stick for the flower.

She cut her shirt.

Important!

Shirt bottom size = cone diameter!

I sewed the side seams.

I made the hands in the usual way.

I glued them into the sleeves of my shirt.

I sewed a cap from a scrap of bright fabric and decorated it with braid and a bell.

She put it on her head.

She secured her head on a stick.

I made an incision on the shirt in the neck area. She passed the stick through and glued the shirt to her head.

She decorated the shirt with bright wooden buttons.

The hardest part was fitting the bottom of the shirt to the cone to connect them!

The bottom of my shirt turned out to be smaller, I had to tinker with gluing in Parsley.

The top and the joint on the cone were decorated with jute braids. And the end of the stick is a wooden red bead.

Now pull the wand: “Bye-bye!”

You can look inside the cone)

Is it true? It turned out funny!

P.S. Cone size 23 cm.

Parsley from cone to bell 23 cm.

But I still came out smiling)

If you rotate the stick, Parsley turns his head, and the bell rings merrily!

It is always more expensive than purchased. Children especially like soft, cheerful toys, and those that also know how to hug and say hello - this is generally the limit of their dreams! So we will try to knit a soft funny dragon with wings - ears, the body of which is put on the hand. Such toys are also called “parsleys”, because it is from them that our puppet theater originates, when the first toy - a mitten - was Parsley!

To make the dragon's head, we knit a chain of 5 chain stitches and make a ring out of it. We knit 2 single crochets from each loop. We get a row of 10 columns. We knit row 1 in the same way. We already get a row of 20 columns. 3rd row: we knit the odd columns with single crochets, and from each even column we knit 2 single crochets. This results in a row of 30 columns. 4th row: 2 single crochets, from every third stitch we make 2 stitches. Now we have 40 columns in the row. Row 5: 3 single crochets, and from each 4 single crochets we make 2 single crochets. So, we already have 50 columns in a row. Now we knit 5 rows in the round with simple single crochets, this will be 250 single crochets.

11 row. To make a hole for the mouth, unroll the knitting and knit 40 stitches. Next, we make 10 chain stitches and continue knitting in stitches, inserting the hook into the outer stitch where the turn was made. Row 12: we knit 50 stitches, that is, a full row, including stitches located on air loops. Row 13: 3 single crochets, from the next 2 we make 1. Repeat this report until the end of the row. Row 14: 2 single crochets, from the next 2 we make 1 stitch - repeat this report until the end of the row. Row 15: 1 single crochet, knit 2 from 2, repeat until the end of the row. Row 16: From every two stitches we make 1 single crochet. We cut the thread and fasten it.

We knit the inner part of the mouth from pink yarn. We knit 7 chain stitches and knit 7 stitches on them. Turning the knitting inside out, we knit 7 stitches again. Turn again and knit from the second stitch, we get 6 stitches. We repeat the steps and get 5 columns. Then we knit 1 from 2 columns, we get 3, we make 2 columns from them in the next row and, having secured the loop, we cut off the thread.

We again attach the thread to the beginning of the knitting, only we knit 7 stitches, grabbing the loop with the hook by the nearest half of the loop, so that we get a kind of “bend”, a seam on the part. So we knit three rows. Now we begin to reduce the number of stitches in the row by 1, starting from the second stitch until there are 4 stitches. Then we make 1 out of every 2 stitches and finish knitting.

We put the inner part of the mouth into the cut of the head and carefully sew it on, leaving a small hole for the filler. You can use chopped foam rubber or padding polyester as filler. It is better not to take cotton wool, because after the first wash it will fall off and the head will lose its shape. We push the filler into the head not very tightly, but so that the index finger can fit inside the head.

We start knitting the spine with an air chain, which corresponds to the length of the dragon from the forehead to the hole in the head intended for the finger.

We knit like this: 1 single crochet, 1 double crochet, 1 double crochet, knitted from the same loop from which the previous double crochet was knitted, make 2 chain stitches, from the next stitch of the previous row we knit a double crochet, then single crochet, then half crochet. We repeat this report as many times as it fits on the chain.

Let's start making ears - wings. They will be knitted from yarn of two contrasting colors. We cast on 10 air loops with yarn of the first color, unroll the knitting and knit 10 single crochets. We leave the thread hanging freely, and tie the tip of the second yarn to the beginning of knitting.

Now we knit the “wing membrane” with this yarn (contrasting color) 3 single crochets, and then 3 double crochets. We knit 2 stitches with double crochets. From the next stitch we knit a double crochet stitch, but do not knit it all the way, leaving a loop and a loop of the previous stitch on the hook. We knit the last stitch of the previous row with a double crochet stitch and knit all three loops together at the end. Thus, we reduced the number of columns by connecting one of two columns.

Turn the knitting inside out and knit two double crochets from the last stitch. Next, 2 double crochets, 3 double crochets and 3 single crochets.
Replace the thread. We knit 10 stitches with this thread, turn the knitting and knit 10 single crochets. We change the thread and knit the “wing membrane” according to the previous pattern. We break the thread and tie it to the main one, securing it. We knit 10 single crochets with the main thread, turn the knitting over and knit the last 10 single crochets. We cut the thread and fasten it. The ear - the wing is ready. Two such details need to be completed.

We assemble the dragon's head by sewing on ears, eyes and a sharp spine.

Place the finished dragon head on your index finger and carefully sew the top of the “dress” to the head. If you have an assistant who will allow you to use your hand as a dummy, then it will be more convenient for you to perform this seam. MK prepared by Lyudmila Ulanova

We cut out the dragon’s “dress” from fabric. It should match the size of your hand. It's like a three-fingered gauntlet with spread fingers. Place the cut pieces facing each other and sew down the side seams. The bottom of the product and the hole at the top should remain unsewn. We turn the product inside out and put the “dress” on our hand. The thumb and middle finger fit into the sewn “dress sleeves,” and the index finger protrudes from the hole at the top of the garment.
