The child wanted a wolf hat for New Year, so he had to do it. Today I will tell you how to knit a wolf hat and a ponytail with your own hands for the New Year for a 3-year-old child.

The prototype and inspiration for the wolf in my performance was the wolf from the cartoon. This handsome guy! I didn’t strive for an exact resemblance, but I was guided by it.

To work on the wolf hat we will need:

Gray yarn -100 grams
Black yarn - 10 grams
White yarn - 10 grams
Hook No. 4

For knitting I used 100% acrylic threads. First, let's knit a hat. In order to knit a hat, you need to know the volume of your child's head. All sizes are of course individual, but I will still give a table that will help you.

My child is 3 years old.

Head circumference 50 centimeters. Therefore, the bottom, according to the table, should be 16.9 centimeters. That is, I must knit exactly 16.9 centimeters according to Pattern 1 below.

Here is the pattern for knitting the bottom.

We try it on the child, if everything suits us, we begin to knit the nose of the wolf, or rather not even the nose, but the muzzle of the wolf.

We knit a nose. The nose should be voluminous. We knit 3 loops of the chain, close them into a ring and begin tying them with single crochets. With each row we increase several loops. I knitted 5 rows in total.

And ears for the wolf. We knit an air chain of 9 loops. And we knit 5 rows with single crochets, and then in each row we begin to reduce the number of loops by one. When I knitted the triangles, they seemed a bit small to me, so I knitted them with a few more rows of single crochets, and then another row of dark gray. In total, the ears were 9 cm wide and 10 cm long.

All we have to do is tie the eyes for the wolf. The whites should turn out oval. To do this, we collect 4 air loops and tie them in a circle with single crochets for 4 rows. Eye height 5.5 cm.

Then we knit the pupil. To do this, take black threads and knit 4 air stitches. We close them in a ring and knit 14 stitches with nikid around the air loops.

Assembling a wolf hat

First, let's fill our muzzle with padding polyester (or any other filler), stuff it quite tightly so that the muzzle holds its shape well.

We retreat 1 centimeter from the edge of the cap and sew it with a hidden seam. We sew a nose onto the muzzle (don’t forget to put a piece of padding polyester in it)

Then we sew on the ears, determine the center of the cap and sew on the ears symmetrically.

Then we sew on the whites of the eyes. And the pupils.

Then you need to make the lips. They can be embroidered with black threads, but I knitted a long air chain from black threads and simply sewed them to the muzzle. We make mustaches simply from pieces of black thread.

And this is what happened. The photos are not of very high quality, since we still had to catch up with the happy owner of the new hat)))

I looked at the hat, there are not enough eyebrows, like the wolf from the cartoon and the muzzle is too smooth! I gathered a couple of folds on the muzzle and secured them with thread. I sewed white highlights on the eyes. I knitted the eyebrows, cast on 6 chain stitches and knitted a couple of rows. And she sewed it to the face, one higher and the other lower, so it looked like a slightly surprised face.

What is a wolf without a tail? I crocheted a rope. I cut the thread and attached it to the harness. The result is a luxurious tail.

I attached the tail to a suit of a suitable color, in our case a dark gray terry suit with a light gray belly. The image is complete.

We glue claws inside the sleeves of the sweater. To make the wolf more aggressive, they can be “dirty” a little with red paint.

Glue the two ear parts together, then bend the ear slightly and glue it to the top of the hood.

Make patterns on fabrics and cut them out. For the hat, you need to measure two measurements from the child's head. This is the depth from the earlobe to the earlobe (it must then be divided by 2) and the circumference of the head. The ears are equilateral triangles. For the ears, cut two triangles from dark gray fabric and two from white fabric with a pile. To make a nose, you need to cut out a small strip and a circle from light gray fabric. The circumference of the circle is equal to the curved side of the strip.

Place ears from different fabrics with right sides facing each other and sew on both sides. Next, fill it a little with cotton wool and sew the last side. Do the same for the second ear. Sew the circle for the nose to the strip on the curved side. Next, sew the short sides of the strip together. Stuff the product with cotton wool. Set aside for now. Make the hat: fold it right sides together and start stitching, insert the ears in the right places on the hat and sew along with them. Turn the cap inside out. Next, sew on the nose.

Options for the base of the suit

For a suit it is better to use shorts. They are comfortable and not so hot, since the child will be on the move all the time. Using the given pattern, make 4 pieces from dark gray fabric. You will also need an elastic band. The length of the elastic is equal to the waist circumference plus 3 cm for the seam. The patterns are ready. Place right sides together first and sew along the fly line. Next, do the same with the back parts and connect with a seam. Turn the pieces inside out and sew the side seams of the shorts. All that remains is to sew the bottom and top, and insert an elastic band into the top part.

How to make a wolf tail at home

A very simple ponytail can be made from fabric and cotton wool. To do this, carefully cut out the indicated patterns and sew them, having previously folded them with their right sides facing each other.

Very comfortable gloves can be made with a wide elastic band. In such “capes” your hands will not get tired. Cut out two pieces from gray fabric, as in the picture. Measure the circumference of the child's hand and cut out the elastic bands, adding 1 cm for the length so that it does not pull too much. Sew the elastic by folding the loose ends to the inside of the foot. You can try on the resulting paws and, if necessary, hem the elastic if it turns out to be too big.
